Our Programs
Adoption Program
Our adoption program connects homeless dogs and cats with loving forever families. Every animal in our care receives medical treatment, spay/neuter, and individualized attention to help them thrive. When you adopt from Southern Souls Animal League, you’re not just saving one life — you’re making room for the next animal in need. Applications are available on the applications page.
low-cost vaccine clinics
We host low-cost vaccine clinics to help protect pets and the community. These clinics provide essential vaccines at affordable prices, reducing the spread of preventable diseases and improving overall animal health in our area. These are hosted periodically throughout the year. Check our events page for future dates.
Snug
Spaying, Neutering, and Uniting for Good
SNUG is our targeted spay and neuter initiative focused on reducing overpopulation in high-intake animals. By offering low-cost and sponsored sterilization for qualifying pit bulls and cats, this program prevents unwanted litters before they enter the shelter system — saving lives and resources across our community. Applications are available on the applications page.
Pet Food Pantry
Our pet food pantry helps families keep their pets during times of financial hardship. By providing temporary food assistance, we prevent unnecessary surrenders and keep pets where they belong — at home with the people who love them. Applications are available on the applications page.

Open Paws Program
The Open Paws Program expands access to affordable spay and neuter services beyond our SNUG focus animals. This program helps responsible pet owners take proactive steps in caring for their pets while reducing future shelter intake and improving overall animal welfare in our region. Applications are available on the applications page.
HAYA— Hay Assistance for Your Animals
The H.A.Y.A. Program provides hay to help keep outdoor dogs and cats warm during cold weather months. This program is designed to be simple, fast, and accessible for families who need extra support.

Southern Souls Animal League believes no one should ever have to choose between safety and the animal they love. Through our Keeping Best Friends Together program, we work alongside the Wiregrass Homeless Shelter to support individuals and families experiencing homelessness while protecting the bond they share with their pets.
This initiative includes the development of on-site pet accommodations at the shelter, a referral-based thrift shop voucher program to provide essential and work-ready clothing, and the collection of critical everyday items to meet immediate needs. Together, we are creating compassionate solutions that keep people and their pets safe, supported, and together. Please reach out to Wiregrass Homeless Shelter for access to these services!
